theprotocol.ink sets one essential cookie, which remembers your privacy choice. Everything else is off unless you switch it on.
The only optional tool on this site is Microsoft Clarity, an analytics service that shows us how pages are used, as anonymous heatmaps and session replays, so we can improve them. It runs only if you allow analytics in the consent banner, and it sets no cookies until you do. If you reject it, or never answer, it does not load at all. Not "loads and is ignored": it does not load.
There is no Meta Pixel, no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager and no TikTok pixel on this website. We do not track you across the web, and we do not build a profile of you from your browsing.
| Key | Where | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| tp_consent | Cookie (essential) | Records your choice in the consent banner, so we respect it on every page and do not ask again. Contains your yes or no for analytics and the date, nothing that identifies you | 180 days |
| tpSeen | sessionStorage | Remembers that you have already seen the intro animation, so it is not replayed on every page. Stays on your device, never sent to us | Until you close the tab |
| _clck, _clsk and related Clarity keys | Cookies (analytics, optional) | Set by Microsoft Clarity only after you allow analytics. They give your browser an anonymous ID so Clarity can group the pages you visit into one session. See Microsoft's privacy statement | Up to 12 months, per Microsoft's settings |
If you never allow analytics, the third row never happens.
You will see a banner when you first arrive, with three real choices: reject optional cookies, manage your choices, or accept all. Rejecting genuinely blocks analytics; it is not a decorative button. Your choice is stored in the essential cookie above and applied on every page. You can change your mind at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, which reopens the same controls.
If we ever add or change an optional tool, the consent version changes and you will be asked again. We will not reuse an old yes for a new thing.
To load this page, your browser fetches images, fonts and code libraries from other companies, and our forms run a bot-protection check. Those providers receive your IP address, because a request cannot reach them without one. None of them sets a cookie on this site.
Some links on this site take you to other companies, such as Stripe for payment and Zoom for booking a call. They are links, not embeds. If you click through, you leave this site and that company's own cookie and privacy policies apply to you there.
The easiest way is the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. You can also clear the keys above at any time through your browser settings, along with cookies from any other site. Clearing them will not affect your ability to use this website. The only effect is that the consent banner and the intro animation will appear again.
Whenever we introduce or change a cookie or a tracking tool, we update this policy before it goes live and the consent banner asks you afresh. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always tell you when it last changed.
