theprotocol.ink does not set any cookies. Not one.
There is no Meta Pixel, no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no TikTok pixel, no session recording and no heatmapping on this website. We do not track you across the web, and we do not build a profile of you from your browsing.
What the site does use is a small amount of your browser's own storage, which is different from a cookie: it stays on your device and is never sent to our server. It is listed in full below.
| Key | Where | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent | localStorage | Records that you clicked accept or decline on the site notice, so the notice is not shown to you again | Until you clear your browser data |
| cookieConsent | localStorage | The same thing, on two of our pages, which use an older key name | Until you clear your browser data |
| tpSeen | sessionStorage | Remembers that you have already seen the intro animation, so it is not replayed on every page | Until you close the tab |
None of these three contains an identifier, and none of them is sent to us or to anyone else.
You may see a notice when you first arrive. To be straight with you about what it does: it records your choice and dismisses itself. That is all. It does not switch any tracking on or off, because there is no tracking on this site to switch. If you decline, nothing changes, because nothing was being set in the first place.
To load this page, your browser fetches images, fonts and code libraries from other companies, and our forms run a bot-protection check. Those providers receive your IP address, because a request cannot reach them without one. None of them sets a cookie on this site.
Some links on this site take you to other companies, such as Stripe for payment and Zoom for booking a call. They are links, not embeds. If you click through, you leave this site and that company's own cookie and privacy policies apply to you there.
You can clear the three keys above at any time through your browser settings, along with cookies from any other site. Clearing them will not affect your ability to use this website. The only effect is that the notice and the intro animation will appear again.
If we ever introduce cookies or any form of tracking, we will update this policy before it goes live, and we will put a real consent control in place first. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always tell you when it last changed.
